Hi, I'm Vivian, a product designer, marketing strategist and UX researcher based in the vibrant San Francisco Bay Area.
Every project comes with its own unique context, but at the heart of any effective product or design lies the alignment of business objectives, user needs, and practical realities. This trifecta doesn’t always converge naturally. So I envision good design as being much like water: flowing, smooth, refreshing, adaptable and compatible. It doesn’t resist its environment; it works with it. It molds to constraints, flows around obstacles, and still finds a way to unify what might otherwise stay fragmented.
My blend of experiences: growing up in China and settling in the USA, speaking Mandarin, English, Spanish, Japanese, and Cantonese, an interdisciplinary foundation in Design, Social Science, and Analytics, enables me to unpack problems and conceive solutions from divergent perspectives.
As a lifelong learner, I’m endlessly curious and drawn to the edges of possibility. From traditional painting to cutting-edge AI art, from DTC products to the complexities of the B2B buyer journey, I thrive on exploring the unfamiliar and diving deep. What truly energizes me is the ability to cut through the noise, distill clarity from complexity, identify the core essence and shape chaos into insights.
